National Day of Truth and Reconciliation

Today we remember and stand with the First Nations of Canada as they remember their painful and tragic past involving their children and family members who went to Residential Schools and never came back home. Many lay in unmarked graves all over Canada. This is a fact.

How can we reconcile this experience with whom we are in Christ ?
The book of John 8:32 says

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free

John‬ ‭8‬:‭32‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The Truth remains that true freedom from pain, shame and sorrow comes from Jesus.

The church cannot absolve herself from this tragedy and words cannot express the heartfelt apology that has been said even by the Pope, we recognize that there is need for time to heal and we echo those words again ‘ we are sorry for the injustice and pain that was caused to families, communities and indeed the First Nations.

We present Jesus and not religion, not organized philosophies of men or deceit and lies of men and calculated establishments but the message of hope, love , forgiveness and salvation afresh.

Jesus said

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

John‬ ‭10‬:‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Whatever the thief has stolen can only be restored by Jesus. He has come to give back the abundance that was stolen and to pay back in full.

As we have a reflection of all that has happened, Let us be comforted by the Words of Jesus

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

John‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV

He is the Truth that we seek, all men may be liars
but JESUS remains the truth and the ONLY WAY to the Father. Embrace Him.

Shalom.
